Wedding cars, what to choose

Your wedding is one of the biggest events in your life. But when you think about weddings, the first thing that comes to mind is the bride in her beautiful wedding dress. Everything else revolves around her and is co-ordinated to make her look and feel really special. One such 'accessory' is the car used to bring the bride to the church and bring the couple away to the reception. The wedding car is the first thing people see when the bride arrives and allows for some wonderful photo opportunities. Similarly, images of the newly wed couple waving out the window as they depart for the reception, are always seen in the photo album and on the video. Some couples say it was the only time they had to themselves in a long eventful day and were glad of the chance to be alone.

So how do you choose your transport? The choices are varied and depend on your own preferences. Do you fancy a stretch limo, a vintage car, a Rolls Royce or a horse drawn carriage? Many hotels now include use of a wedding car in its package, but it may not be the type of car you prefer.
Some things to consider in deciding what to choose might include:

What are the terms and conditions required for the booking?

Does the company povide wedding decoration, if so can they be customised to match your colour schemes?

Is champagne included as part of the package or only available on request?

What will the driver/chaffeur be wearing? You want them to look smart and professional, not wearing jeans and a jumper.

Depending on the time of year and how far you have to travel, you will want to know are the vehicles heated or have they air conditioning? Older vehicles may not.

Its Ireland, it could rain, are umbrellas supplied? If its an open top car, does the roof close over?

View the vehicle to be used if at all possible, make sure you have enough room for a comfortable journey.
